چکیده
Therapeutic potential of PNP inhibitors PNP deficiency leads to T-lymphocytopenia, usually with no apparent effects on B-lymphocyte function. These symptoms suggest possible chemotherapeutic applications of potent inhibitors of PNP, as selective immunosuppressive agents, to treat T-cell leukemias or T-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases, such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis . The decrease in plasma and urine levels of urate is an additional symptom of PNP deficiency. PNP inhibitors may contribute to treat hyperuricemic states, such as secondary or xanthine gout. Some PNP inhibitors have undergone clinical trials for the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), HIV infections, and psoriasis.

NovoCIB IMPDH Services
The oxidation of IMP to XMP is considered as the pivotal step in the biosynthesis of guanine nucleotide, whose pool controls cell proliferation and many other major cellular processes. The decrease in guanine nucleotide resulting from IMPDH inhibition interrupts the nucleic acid synthesis in proliferating cells. The involvement of IMPDH in de novo guanine nucleotide biosynthesis makes IMPDH a c...
متن کاملManagement Policy for Podocarpus National Park, Ecuador: A Synthesis
National Parks have been created around the world to safeguard biodiversity, ecosystem services, recreational opportunities, cultural heritage, and many other worthy objectives. While we strive to achieve these resource-oriented goals, long-term success will not be realized without finding common ground between the people who live, work, visit, or otherwise have an interest in these regions. Se...
متن کاملBiodegradation Modeling of Nitrophenolic Pollutant in a Slurry Bubble Reactor
Biodegradation kinetics of 4-nitrophenol (PNP) in aqueous solution by a gram negative soil bacterium, Ralstoniaeutropha was firstly studied in a small scale batch reactor. The degradation of PNP was evaluated at initial PNP concentrations ranging from 3 mg/L to 14 mg/L. The rate of PNP consumption by the bacterium culture was modeled using Monod and Contois kinetics in batch condition. PNP degr...
متن کاملIntron requirement for expression of the human purine nucleoside phosphorylase gene.
Abbreviated purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) genes were engineered to determine the effect of introns on human PNP gene expression. PNP minigenes containing the first intron (complete or shortened from 2.9 kb down to 855 bp), the first two introns or all five PNP introns resulted in substantial human PNP isozyme expression after transient transfection of murine NIH 3T3 cells. Low level hum...
متن کاملCerebellar abnormalities in purine nucleoside phosphorylase deficient mice.
Inherited defects in purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) cause severe T cell immunodeficiency and progressive neurological dysfunction, yet little is known about the effects of PNP deficiency on the brain. PNP-KO mice display metabolic and immune anomalies similar to those observed in patients. Our objectives were to characterize brain abnormalities in PNP-KO mice and determine whether restor...
